Bottom Up Black History – Grassroots Stories of Resistance and Resilience

When: Thursday February 28, 2013 | 6pm

Where: Belefonte TACOLCY Center, 6161 NW 9 Ave, Miami FL

On the last day of Black History month, Miami Workers Center invites you to a special conversation on the contributions of everyday black Americans in the struggle for racial equality and democracy.  We will explore how African Americans have exhibited resilience and resistance in the face of racial oppression from the early days of the African Slave trade through today.  We will conclude the program with an open discussion on the current state of movements for Black equality, including the implications of having a Black President.  A Soul Food dinner will be served.  We hope you will join us!
