Miami Workers Center and Power U Center for Social Change have a bold vision for the future of social justice in South Florida.
We have a vision of a Miami where working-class communities of color have the dignity, respect, rights, and resources we all deserve. For nearly 30 years, our organizations have supported everyday people in realizing their power for the betterment of their communities. we are building the Center for People Power. The campaign’s goal is to raise $10 million dollars to support the construction and expansion of the Center for People Power.
Located in the historically Black neighborhood of Liberty City, where Miami's movement for justice continues to grow roots.
The Center for People Power will...
- Coordinate cross-organizational collaboration and networking
- Convene solutions to problems through strategy and skill-share labs
- Train the next generation of community leaders
- Develop the power of our communities through education, advocacy training, leadership coaching, and economic development programs

The construction of the Center for People Power includes a process of engaging our neighbors as stakeholders, and ensuring development is socially and environmentally responsible. Along the way, we are consulting long-time Liberty City residents, next-door neighbors, and community development experts. The People Power Capital Campaign will allow us to create a physical space that will drive our advocacy and movement building, support our communities to collaborate in change-making, and serve as a space for sustainability and collective innovation.
