Power with Women and Families

Cultivating a beloved community

Women are the foundations of our communities. We are responsible for making ends meet, children, housework, and more, but rarely do we have access to resources to help us get by. The Miami Workers Center is an organization of working-class women of color who are building mutual support to help each other through hard times, while organizing and advocating for dignity and respect on the job and in our neighborhoods.

Our Gender Justice Programs:

Women’s Circles

This monthly all-gender affirming space centers the experiences and needs of Black & Brown women and femmes to close the gap and fill the need for support services across the spectrum of emotional, sexual and reproductive health.

Every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6pm the Miami Workers Center

Sisters in Struggle: Mutual Aid

Everyone has something to offer and everyone has things that they need. We understand that needing things is not a personal failure – we are living in a profoundly unequal society without safety nets. This is not our fault, and we believe in taking collective responsibility for getting everyone through times of crisis.

This quarterly event brings together membership, community members, partner organizations, women, and children for an afternoon of family fun, sharing resources, and fostering connection.

We’re open to collaborating with organizations in our ecosystem aligned with our mission and values – get in contact with us!

Healing Justice

We’re building narrative power by shifting the conversation around healing and wellness to center working-class women, families, and communities of color. We are organizing to expand the rights of women as tenants and care workers, as well as creating programs to increase access to resources and education, rooted in our right to self-determination.

Support Our Work

Help us mobilize resources that attend to women’s sexual and reproductive health, including the following items: emergency contraception, condoms, pregnancy tests, diapers, hygiene products, all which are critical and unmet needs for women and survivors of violence.
