We believe that every resident in Miami-Dade County deserves to live in a safe, healthy, accessible, and truly affordable home. We believe that housing is a human right.

Our long-term vision is a a Miami-Dade in which we can all live in our full dignity with self-determination over our bodies, labor, and neighborhoods. We believe that those closest to the problems, are those closest to the solutions. That's why we develop the leadership of tenants to build and lead policy and budget campaigns to expand the rights and protections of tenants across Miami-Dade.

Towards a Right to Counsel

Tenant Bill of Rights

Tenant Defense

The rights we win are only as strong as our ability to defend them. Through direct outreach to tenants on the doors and know-your-rights trainings, we are committed to making sure our neighbors know how to defend themselves against abusive landlords by uniting with their neighbors and asserting their rights.

Eviction Diversion

Evictions are the primary cause of homelessness and can impact families for generations. Every tenant deserves their chance to fight their eviction, but the supermajority of tenants don’t have the right to legal defense. We are fighting for the Right to Counsel in Miami-Dade so that families can have a better chance of staying housed.

Section 8 and HUD Tenants

Over the last decade, conditions for HUD tenants have increasingly deteriorated with little transparency or oversight. Tenants with Section 8 vouchers are facing the brunt of the housing crisis as costs soar and vouchers expire, leaving families vulnerable to displacement and homelessness.

Subsidized tenants are seeking answers and organizing for forms of more democratic control over public housing in Miami-Dade and the Section 8 program.
